Uplands School Expansion Project

Update -  The modular buildings have arrived on site having been delivered in four huge sections. The children (and staff) have been fascinated by the large crane which they have been able to watch lifting the modular buildings from a safe distance.

As you may be aware, our Published Admission Number (PAN) is in the process of increasing from 132 to 153 students.  Currently we have 147 students on roll.  Following receipt of significant capital funding from Swindon Borough Council, work will shortly begin on the installation of a new modular expansion to provide two additional classes.

What works are taking place?

Following an extensive review of the school grounds a preferred site was identified for the new modular building, the area currently occupied by the gym equipment next to the existing modular building.   Please be assured that we will not be losing the gym equipment as this will be relocated once the expansion works have been completed.

The modular building will comprise two classrooms, toilets, offices, storerooms and a communal multi-functional area.  The building will be built off site and delivered to the school in sections towards the end of June.

When will work begin?

Main groundworks will begin on Monday 6th June and will continue through to the middle of August.  During the school holiday between Terms 5 and 6, Modulek, the appointed contractor, will be delivering the site office, zoning off several parking spaces to create a compound and installing safety fencing and barriers.  Although works will be undertaken during the school day, apart from during drop off and pick up, we will ensure that noise and disruption is minimised as best we can.  Although we hope that you will bear with us whilst the delivery of this exciting expansion takes place, please contact the school office if you have any questions or queries.
