Ofsted
We had a visit from Ofsted on the 29th and 30th November 2022. This was an ungraded inspection and therefore our grade has not changed. I was delighted that the inspectors commented:
Uplands is a school where each pupil is valued and celebrated for who they are and what they can do. Staff create safe spaces for pupils to learn. Individual adaptations ensure that no matter what the challenges are, everyone makes the most of what they have….. Pupils enjoy school and are proud to attend.
As part of the Ofsted feedback survey, a parent / carer commented:
The life skills he learns are vital for him to be a productive member of society. Key to the success of the school is how well staff understand the needs of every pupil. Enthusiastic school council members work together to represent pupils across the school.
The report recognised that as a school leadership team, we understand the school’s strengths and areas for development. The developmental points identified in terms of the curriculum implementation and the embedding of phonics are both areas which we have already been and will continue to focus on. As such, we will have a full graded inspection in the next 12-18 months.

I have every confidence, that as a school community of staff and students and families, we will work together to address the points raised by the report and as a result, we will raise standards and continue to provide an excellent school environment where students are able to thrive and achieve their full potential.
If you have any questions about the report then please do contact the school.
