Careers Information for School Staff

All staff at Uplands School are involved in CEIAG for our young people; both to support their knowledge and skill development (e.g. through Skills for Adulthood and Life and Citizenship lessons, enterprise activities, work-related learning, work experience and preparation for adulthood related work linked to their EHCP) and to raise their confidence and aspirations.  

Useful Information for School Staff
  • Barclay’s Life Skills – resources developed by teachers to support employability skill development. They also have some SEND specific resources available. ( 
  • Careers Pilot - allows students to learn more about themselves and their strengths and interests and utilise this information to look for information on a range of job sectors ( 
  • icould – free online teaching resources, including quizzes and links to other useful websites and resources.  ( 
  • My World of Work – session/lesson plans and other resources designed to make careers education inspirational and fun. ( 
  • National Careers Service - provides information, advice and guidance to help young people and their families make decisions on learning, training and work, including advisors available on the phone/live chat. ( 
  • Skills builder - free online resources to support development of essential skills required by employers and throughout life. ( 
  • Swindon Career Hub - set up by Great Western Hospital, Swindon Career Hub gives information on local careers related events and resources involving local employers. (
